Khalsa TV fined Rs 50 lakh for inciting Sikhs to violence in Britain

With in United Kingdom, media watchdog Ofcom fined Khalsa TV Ltd a fine of Rs 50 lakh (£ 50,000). Ofcom pleaded guilty to broadcasting a music video promoting violence in the Indian state and glorifying the violent actions of the Sikh separatists on television. Not only this, Khalsa TV was found guilty of broadcasting such talk-based programmes that incite violence against a critic of Sikhism and legitimise a terrorist organisation.
The song of the music video ‘Bagga and Shera’ was aired on Khalsa TV in July 2018. It showed a picture of Indira Gandhi in which blood is falling from her mouth. In this picture, the caption wrote, ‘Bad lady you drank the blood of innocents’. The song was playing in this video, ‘The warriors will destroy your empire.’ In it, the Red Fort was shown burning.
Ofcom says that these pictures and the things written in the video provoke violent action against the Indian state. Simultaneously glorifies those who did it. ‘ Khalsa TV has a license to broadcast programs in the UK on Sikh issues. Khalsa TV has been fined 20,000 pounds for broadcasting music videos thrice.
Ofcom said that the video indirectly supported the violent action of the Sikh terrorists. This includes those who killed the people who carried out Operation Blue Star. Explain that the Khalistani terrorists had a hand in the killing of those involved in Operation Blue Star. Ofcom said that other people in the video were also incited to commit murder and violence. Ofcom said that the NIA has filed several charge sheets against Khalistan Liberation Force Ramandeep Singh Bagga and Hardeep Singh Shera. They are accused of killing in India.
