Gurudwara Majnu Ka Tila Sahib in Delhi be used to quarantine the people infected with Coronavirus, appealed the Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC) on Monday to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
The DGSMC said that “Sarai” and “langar” will be provided by gurudwaras in the city, to the needy and those affected by the epidemic.
In the letter to the CM, DSGMC president Manjinder Singh Sirsa said, “We offer to provide DSGMC Sarai of Gurudwara Majnu Ka Tilla Sahib as quarantine facility and provision of langar for the poor and needy people when and where it is required in Delhi.”
“In order to ensure that the poor families are not left without food due to lack of work, we are ready to distribute langar in food packets,” Mr. Sirsa added.
members of the Sikh Community extend a helping hand in all major cities to provide free of charge service to those in critical need. The services range from picking up groceries to helping the elderly.
In Melbourne, a number of Gurdwaras and organisations are delivering food to needy and those impacted by Coronavirus 14 days Isolation period.
In Sydney, Turbans 4 Australia (T4A) organisation, Turramurra Gurdwara are working together to deliver cooked meals.
In Adelaide, Gurdwara Allenby Gardens is also delivering free cooked meals.
Besides free cooked meals, Organisations Turbans for Australia and Khalsa Aid are also assisting vulnerable families across Australia by providing some essential and basic groceries as well.
