He said both had arrived in India around a week ago, but due to the Covid-19 outbreak, the Punjab Government decided to close the Kartarpur Corridor due to which they had to stay in their house at Phase 3A, Mohali. The two floors of their house were given to families on rent, Grewal said.

Gurdev was tested positive for the virus two days ago following which the Health Department had admitted them in the Mohali Civil Hospital. From there, they were shifted to Fortis Hospital on their wish by the doctors, where their condition is said to be stable. Both women and Gurdev’s son had created a high drama when the police came to their residence to pick them in ambulance. It took around 25 minutes for the police to convince the family to sit in the ambulance.
