The Sikh Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhik Committee (SGC) has made special arrangement at the entrance gates of Sri Darbar Sahib (Tarn Taran), Gurdwara Beerh Baba Budha Sahib Ji to deal with Coronavirus outbreak by setting up hand-sanitizing facility besides taking precautionary steps.
On March 19, SGPC’s chief secretary Dr. Roop Singh met the Tarn Taran’s Deputy Commissioner Pardeep Kumar Sabharwal and Police officials to discuss about the arrangements to be made to control the spread of this pandemic.
Roop Singh informed that a special training has been provided to the staff deployed in Sikh shrines of Tarn Taran district. “We are inspiring devotees to maintain an adequate distance with each other and a special cleanliness is being maintained inside langar halls and Karah Prasad counters,” he added.
Dr. Roop Singh further said that the SGPC is cautious about the possible threats and efforts were being made to secure devotees from this pandemic with the help of state government.
He has appealed the Sikh masses to abide by the time to time instructions being issued by the Punjab Health Department.
