Muslims welcome Sikh Shobha yatra in Punjab

Management of Jamia Masjid, Field Gunj welcomed the shobha yatra taken out by the Sikh community as a mark of respect to Guru Ravidas on his birth anniversary near the mosque.

The yatra was welcomed by Naib Shahi Imam Maulana Usman Ludhianvi, who organised the programme. On the occasion, the Muslim community presented siropas and a bouquet to Jinderpal Daouch, president of Guru Ravi Dass Temple management committee, Basti Jodhewal, chairman, Major Singh Shehmar, general secretary Narendra Rai Bittu, Ramanjeet Lali and other leaders.

The Muslim community had put up a stage outside the Jama Masjid. On this occasion, Naib Shahi Imam Maulana Muhammad Osman Ludhianvi said in India people of all religions celebrate gurpurbs together. He added that Guru Ravidas was not only a leader for humanity, but also a symbol of the culture and unity of this country.

Naib Shahi Imam said those taking political benefits cannot break the unity and love among people of all religions in India. He said Punjab had slways given the message of mutual brotherhood to the whole country.
